About

After 36 years of marriage, raising kids, and juggling jobs, we suddenly found ourselves retired, and faced with the prospect of continually bumping into each other at a frightening frequency. Somehow we hadn’t planned for that. But, if we have been anything over the last three dozen years, we have been resourceful, and that trait would see us through this potential crisis. As if by instinct, we created a man cave at the far south corner of our house and a library at the polar opposite, and instantly we each had our own retreat where we could contemplate and cultivate our individual thoughts. The only casualty to this near perfect solution was communication, which is why, at almost anytime, you can hear the following exchange shouted from one end of our house to the other: “Hey!” … “What?” … “What Did You Say?”
